Influences
Henry Matisse made two trips to Morocco in 1912-13. His paintings during this time conveyed the brilliant light and colors he experienced on these trips.
”Matisse might well have been struck by the vivid patternization, repetition of ornamental motifs and predominance of “arabesque” line; in rugs, by the brilliance of the color composition and the generation of pictorial relief through the juxtaposition of flat color patches” Roger, B. (1990) Matisse in Morocco: a colonizing esthetic. Art in America (USA), vol.78, no. 11, Nov. 1990, p. 211.
My most influential painting teachers are Ferenc Barczánfalvi, Károly Bodó and Rachel Siporin.
Conclusion
My goal is not to document exact reality, I leave this to photography - but instead I strive to represent the force of the colors gathered in my eyes.
I believe that man’s ability to differentiate subtleties of color in a sophisticated way is inherent to all but can be developed with practice. Show me your palette and I will tell you who you are.
